The Golden Triangle: Writing, Photography & Buddhist Belief (Part 1&2) is a two quarter program designed for intensive interdisciplinary studies in photography, writing, and Buddhist studies. In this program the student will travel overseas to Thailandand Cambodia to be fully immersed in each country’s culture and unique way of life. While in each country the student will focus on a different photographic technique and poetry style. In Thailand the student will primarily be taking portraits and writing poems about each individual they photograph for their final photo book. While in Cambodia the student will focus on architectural photography of Buddhist relics in and around the area of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. In each country the student will photograph and write about their personal experience (as well as other Buddhist practitioners) with Buddhist tradition. In Thailand the student will take a week to two week long intensive Buddhist meditation course.
During week 10 the student will send two completed photo books to the faculty: Thailand & Cambodia. These photography books will show the span of work that the student accomplished throughout their studies and the photographic styles they learned to use.
